Custom Exhibit fabrication includes rock work, trees, environments, timber framing, sculpture, dioramas, themed environments and specimen mounting. RCI has the ability to take your designer’s drawings and turn them into reality. Our facility has a 10,000 square foot layout area dedicated to custom exhibit work incorporating all the necessary in house services to fabricate these unique exhibits. Over the past 20 years we have worked on a variety projects, spanning a multitude of museum studies from living history, archaeology, anthropology, zoology, botany, and palaeontology. While working on these exhibits we have developed many of our own techniques and a working knowledge of many different materials such as latex, silicones, urethane, epoxy, acrylic, Iron, bronze, wood, glass-fibre reinforced concrete and gypsum. One such project was to construct an Egyptian Glass Kiln which we did using the traditional method of making mud bricks and assembling them to form the kiln. We then took what we built traditionally and molded and cast the kiln with modern materials. This process allowed us to create a more durable light weight exhibit that kept the traditional appearance while meeting the present day fire codes.
